Biography

Born to Lachecthel and Nilvanya shortly before the War of Last Alliance, Garaf's early life was defined by that conflict. He found in himself a desire to hunt the dark things of the world much as his father and spent much of his time even in youth in the practice of spear, sword, and bow. After his coming of age he joined his father on rangings throughout Rhovanion and they had countless adventures together.

These adventures lasted until 1991TA when Lachecthel took a goblin arrow that mortally wounded him. Garaf then took up his father's spear Fanaur and has largely traveled alone ever since. He remains a steadfast defender of the Elvenking's Realm and a loyal servant of Elvenking Thranduil.

Appearance

Of a grander stature than most of his silvan kin and with a naturally stern countenance, Garaf often appears grim regardless of his actual mood. Garaf goes forth garbed with function rather than form and always in grey. Elvish armor made of leather and cloth and often various small but effective implements including an old, black lute made of the dark wood from the depths of Mirkwood.

Notes

  • Supposedly Garaf once wore many colors such as the green favored by the Silvan, but has only worn grey since the darkening of Mirkwood.
  • Garaf is known to be an expert practioner of the echlilta, or Spear Dance
  • In return for accomplishing a mission long ago, he was gifted with bow known as Gilcarch which is made to "be-light" any arrow that's loosed from it.
  • Known in various places as Garaf, Mithfaron, and Daepedain (more of a generic title for Thranduil's warders)
