Gied the Valiant TA 2750-2811 In 2770 Smaug destroys Dale and kills Girion. Young soldier and musician Gied earns many honours for daring rescue of several prominent families from the flames and ruin. Family removes to Esgaroth with other refugees.

Gamall 2800-2828 Orcs trouble Rohan. Gamall one of few sent to aid the Mark, dies in battle.

Geac the Mad 2851-2883 Insane brother of Gedda, dies running off a pier and drowning himself.

Guthmar Gedding 2875-2944 Dies in Smaug's attack on Esgaroth attempting to save Hild from destroyed house.

Gudram 2911-2968 Marries Hild (2913-2944) who dies in Smaug's attack on Esgaroth.

Guthlac the Old 2933-3018 Marries Alfdis (2946-2970) who dies in childbirth. Relocates family to Dale after Smaug's defeat. Blind for much of his later life.

Gamol 2970-3000 Marries Edwyn (2966-) He dies of illness, she remains weakened by same ailment.

Previous to Gied, little documented on family save family origins in group of Northmen who fled to Dale after wars with the Wainriders ending in the Battle of the Plain in TA 1856. Popular family rumor connects ancestors to “King” Vidugavia of the 13th century TA, though this is (likely) just to impress barmaids and the like.
