Biography

Supposedly descended from a retainer to Finwe, King of the Noldor. The last of his genealogy was documented in the remaining books within the House of Linwe that Amrod, Son of Feanor, Son of Finwe, had a secret lover. She bore him a son after the Kinslaying, naming him Linwe Anor'orthad. While her true name is never documented, Linwe Anor'orthad's only remaining journal, (Recovered sometime before the fall of Edhelion.) refers to her as Ithildin'nana. "Moon-silver Mother". While this may explain the family's attachment to the Sindarin language it never explains her origin or the reasoning behind Linwe's move to Edhelion.

It is known that Linwe took a wife before the fall of Edhelion. To them was born their supposed only child, Verdic Linwe. His surname was carried from his father, so as to give him an attachment to his lineage without raising suspicion in their travels. After Edhelion's fall, it is believed that the family lived as men among the people of the Fallen Kingdom of Arnor for some time. Linwe and his wife are slain in 2509 while supposedly traveling to meet Celebrian. The details on what the meeting was about are not known to the apparent Heir of Linwe.

Verdic, upon hearing news of his parents death, begins his "Long Crusade". Which starts in the Blue Mountains, and continues beyond the Mirkwood. During this time Verdic becomes familiar with the history of the Dunedain and meets Aragorn, Son of Arathorn sometime in the year 3016.

During his return to the Bindbole, as requested by Aragorn, Verdic encounters Gandalf the Grey. At Gandalf's request, Verdic assumes the position of Rear Guard to the Rangers watching over the Shire and Bree, reaching along the southern borders of Evendim. Verdic spends most of his time in the Bindbole wood. The Crusading Torrent is formed to reinforce Verdic's efforts to fulfill his pledge to Gandalf and Aragorn.

Details of Verdic's life after this time period are sketchy at best. It is known that he survives the War of the Ring, and in an account recorded later he and only a select number of Elves remain late in the Fourth Age in secret. He is buried in a tomb of honor in the area that was Bindbole in F.A. 122. Laid to rest by the hobbits that still lived there. There is no record as to the cause of death. However, given the unique honor granted him by the hobbits of the Shire, it is not suspected it was malicious.

Appearance

Verdic is detailed in numerous accounts as having a faded color of blond hair. It is described as flowing like that of the River Bruinen, and his jaw line defined and profound like rock, etched to perfection. His eyes are recounted as being like that of the waters of Lake Evendim. He was frequently confused as a Man in some places, as his taste for hooded cloaks and plain clothing helped him move through out Middle-Earth. Only during war times or formal counsels was he seen in anything else. This is attributed largely to his profession and upbringing.
